Viva Spanish Programs is owned by an American living in Nicaragua. We are known as the Spanish-language leader in Nicaragua, teaching the embassy employees, the NGO workers, missionaries and tourists. We use tried and true methods and we will have you speaking, understanding, reading and writing faster than you think! Note by our simple website that we are not about “fluff”,. We deliver substance. While we offer some activities in the afternoons for students who would like to participate, we are here for the main purpose of teaching Spanish.

Our program is very academic while at the same time gives you the option to take in all that Matagalpa has to offer. The Viva Spanish Program in Matagalpa gives you the opportunity to immerse yourself in Spanish while taking in all of the scenery that Matagalpa is know for. A coffee and tobacco farming community, you are surrounded by mountains and cooler weather than most of Nicaragua.

When you immerse yourself in our curriculum, you will truly find you are LIVING your Spanish lessons. Matagalpa is a warm, friendly and beautiful city, with friendly, rural people that are patient and willing to practice speaking Spanish with you when you are out and about. It is a fascinating setting to better your Spanish-language skills. Nicaragua is a great destination to learn Spanish as almost nobody speaks English here…you’ll be completely immersed! Visit such sites the ruins of the Jesuit Convent and the Museo del Café.  You may be studying Spanish, but your studies don’t have to be limited to mere book and classroom experience.
